Food For Hungry People

Food For Hungry People Coordinator: Rosemary Shumski - Email

Current Drive Information

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Since the Northeastern Food Pantry is unable to accept our donations at this time due to the pandemic, we have decided to donate items to Bell Socialization Services until further notice.

Bell Socialization Services, located at 160 S. George Street, York, is an organization that provides mental health services, programs to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities, and shelter services to aid York County's homeless families. They have an ongoing wish list to which we will contribute. Beginning November 1st, we will be collecting the following items:

  • New socks and underwear for men, women, and children- all ages and sizes
  •  Diapers and Pull-ups- larger sizes (4,5,& 6)

Please leave your donations in the narthex.  The list of items will be changed from time to time as was the case with our food donations, so please check your email for any updates.

Thank you so much!
In Christ,
Rosemary Shumski

We are witnessing now more than ever a world of hunger, poverty, and homelessness in our own neighborhoods. Hunger is one of the world's most pressing problems affecting over one billion people, and next year it is projected that hunger will affect over six million people in the United States alone. Behind these grim statistics are children and families loved by God, who are deprived of their right to a full life because they do not have enough to eat.
In the United States, one in seven people struggle with hunger, and many rely on food from local food banks to help feed their families. We're about to embark on the holiday season, which is an especially difficult time to live with food insecurity – that is, not knowing when you will get your next meal. You can help by supporting your local food pantry, food banks or shelters!  No one deserves to go to bed hungry!  Read more...
